An Eye For Infection
September 2025 - Game Designer & Producer
My first project at CMU's Entertainment Technology Center, where we were tasked to replicate an action through a unique control scheme. In this case, we replicated an eye exam with a horror twist.

I designed the gameplay and narrative, as well as the control layout to make for intuitive play for the audience. I also assisted in programming and sound design. We had less than 2 weeks to complete the game, and we've since presented it at Bit Bridge's 2025 Halloween Showcase.

As the designer, I was challenged with attempting to replicate a real-world procedure using a game format, which was quite challenging. I came up with examination methods that could be approximated with the custom tools we created, and designed the gameplay challenges around that. The physical tools make the procedure feel far more invasive and upsetting.

While this game is complete, because of the unique controls, it can only be played in person.

The unique control method created for "An Eye For Infection" uses the Xbox Adaptive Controller. The speculum and eye dropper rest on pressure plates and can be used as actual tools within the game.
